Structural strengthening of a wooden truss through the substitution of the old and damaged wooden endings with new ones, connected to the existing truss with glass fiber rods.

Carbon Fiber Design Contest

The CARBON FIBER DESIGN CONTEST aims to raise awareness among architects, designers and engineers towards the use of carbon fibers in new areas of application compared to traditional ones, by exploiting and enhancing the technical features of the material: mechanical strength, weight and moldability. The competition is open to the field of product design (internal and external) and aims to stimulate the research of new forms considered as the typical expression of this material on the one hand and on the other to promote the search for innovation in the use of carbon fiber thanks to its peculiarities.

Beams reinforced flexural and shear with CFRP – Macerata Campania (IT)

Strengthening  of R.C. beams with  unidirectional  carbon fiber.  The  flexural  strengthening  was carried out through  the disposal of the CFRP tissues along the lower surface, while  for  shear reinforcement  were placed U-positioned tissues with a wheelbase of 20 cm.

Restoration and strengthening of pillars subject to oxidation – Salerno (IT)

Because of the  proximity to the sea pillars presented an advanced oxidation. We first removed the concrete cover, then we proceeded with the brush and an anti-rust treatment of iron rebars. Once restored the geometry of the pillars with thixotropic mortar, a strengthening of the sections were provided through confinement with carbon fibers sheets.
